Meet the team.
Our team has experience working at some of the biggest companies in remote energy data collection and management. We make solutions, including smart meters, to help fuel suppliers better serve their customers.
CEO + team cheerleader
Amos has brought several connected-data products to market in clean tech and telecom. Formerly at Kwicr, Banyan Water, and EnerNOC. Co-founder and CTO at SwayMarkets
Amos likes to say he races cars, but we think it's an excuse for having one with a terrible paint job.
Nick loves efficiency and thinks less energy should be consumed in buildings and by vehicles on the road. He is a Professional Engineer and has spent a decade making software to leverage sensor data for energy efficiency.
In his free time he brews beer, rides bikes, and loves drinking coffee in the mountains.
Dave brings a long history as an entrepreneur in a number of fields. His most notable success was as a founder and Executive Vice President of Degree Controls, producing smart cooling products for the telecom industry. He is very excited by building a company from the ground up with a strong group of fleet-footed individuals.
Outside of the office Dave can be found spending time with family and generally enjoying life.
In a past life, George was a mechanical engineer, and has 6 years of mechanical design and analysis experience. Curiosity recently led George to attend a startup-focused business development training program. He is excited and ready to turn his focus to generating new business for Tank Utility.
George's best skill is golf, and he is always working hard to bring his marketable/useful skills up to that level.
Lead Software Developer
Kyle spent six years honing his skills at EnerNOC, on both the Database and R&D teams. He helped launch countless products, with a focus on energy efficiency and streaming analytics.
Kyle spends his free time working on various electronics projects. The current one is an Arduino powered safe cracker.
UX Design / Development
Gwen loves finding the sweet spot between beauty and usability when it comes to interface design. She got her start in the industry as a front-end developer, and expanded her skill set from there to include user experience, interaction and visual design.
Fun fact: Gwen won a giant stuffed bear at a company animal-call competition.
Casey has a background in design engineering, environmental science, and visual art. She’s passionate about clean energy and enjoys combining her technical skills and love of people.
Fun fact: Casey has played all 15 rugby positions in competitive play.
Kevin studied Math and Physics in order to work on sustainability from an analytical perspective. He believes that we should be using resources more mindfully and loves technology that improves peoples' lives while helping to increase efficiency.
He loves music and plays guitar and piano in his free time.
Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
In Chandra’s career, she has designed everything from plastic microfluidic cartridges to x-ray laser robots. She loves working on the full lifecycle of a product: making very rough prototypes, scaling production and supporting devices in the field.
Chandra has taken cooking classes around the globe - sometimes she still makes boxed mac n’ cheese.
Director of Business Development
Aaron brings to Tank Utility his knowledge of the propane industry, experience in business development, and enjoys the start-up growth process. He honed his fuel supplier senses as a business development manager at AmeriGas and developed his energy efficiency focus as a business development associate at energy software company Opower. His previous start-up experience was as employee #7 with microfinance investor Developing World Markets and he has an MBA from Duke University.
He is fluent in Spanish and the cheese-making process from his days as a Sustainable Agriculture Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador.
Associate Electrical Engineer
Benny graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and is now entering graduate school to study innovation and management. His goal is to hone his technical and business skills to help strengthen the clean tech industry. He hopes to one day live in a world where technology and nature coexist harmoniously.
He spends his free time learning new sports and is the co-captain of the Bolt soccer team.
